Deborah M. Cofer, affectionately called “Mama C” by many is a mother, grandmother and woman who wears many hats. She is the author of five self-published books as well as Creator and Founder of The Women’s Health Education & Resource Network at North General Hospital…Harlem, New York’s first women’s wellness program, Sistah Chat Radio, LLC, The Ladies Room, LLC and her latest women’s empowerment initiative The Sistahship Talk Show, LLC which she founded with her daughter, Tiffany. Prior to relocating to East Stroudsburg, PA in 2006, she directed the Women’s Health Education and Resource Network where she received numerous awards and recognition for her work, including the Susan B. Anthony Award from City Hall. She has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines, including Ebony Magazine and the Pocono Record. Deborah is the recipient of the Pocono Film Festival’s Advocate For a Better America Award, the Monroe County Image Award’s Community Advocacy Award, The African-American Network’s Woman of Distinction Award for Sistah Chat Radio and the Monroe County Image Award’s Media Excellence Award for Sistah Chat.
