Make That Bed, Sis

What we wouldn’t give to sometimes just lay in bed and not do a damn thing, we are always on the run doing everything everybody needs of us and trying to do for self too. Our minds are constantly thinking about what we need to do, what we forgot to do and what we didn’t do. Remember that although we are “Superwoman”, we really don’t feel like superwoman. It’s time to make that bed, Sis. We get up every morning, we know that psychologically, feeling productive in the morning is part and parcel of making your bed up. We know that we’ve felt not doing so was a task that did not make for a productive day. The plan is to make that bed up, brush our teeth, take a shower, get dressed, get that hair and face right and do what you need to do to tackle the day, that is the plan, right? So it’s an important part of being productive and feel a sense of accomplishment. We need this even more so when we are having fits of depression, sadness, mourning, anxiety, etc.. The morning ritual is so important to get our day started in a productive way. I had to realize during COVID, rolling out of bed and getting online for work wasn’t really being productive, yes, I did my job, but, what did I do for me? I fell into the ritual of depression due to isolation, daily, I fell into the “yes, I’m working from home so I can just roll out of bed”. That might of been fun in the beginning but, what I was actually doing was forming bad habits that didn’t really make me feel accomplished, I didn’t feel good about me and I really wasn’t adjusting appropriately to the new normal of life. It was a slump that created other bad habits that were not creating a healthy mind, body, and spirit. If we plan to get up, we plan to do something, if we plan to make that bed up, we plan to be productive, that is the missing element sometimes. Sit down in the evenings and write, write down what you accomplished that day, what made you feel productive, give yourself grace, thank yourself and make sure somewhere in the beginning you wrote, “I woke up and made my bed up” because you DID it! One day you will look back at that statement when you are feeling down about yourself and look at all you’ve done that day and you will know you did that for you and smile.
So make that bed up, Sis because you have control of how productive you are and how accomplished you feel about yourself, TODAY. Every day is a new journey, 2022 is all about you so make sure with that, you make that bed up.
I’m making mine up now! Set
