“LIFE BEGINS AT THE END OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE”
Jane Dovidio-Gagliardo

How many of us have seen our careers, relationships, and life just become so comfortable that we get into a rut? And what happens is… sooner or later we become unhappy or depressed within ourselves. The reality is we have become too comfortable to make a move or too scared to fail if we make that move. Well, it is at this point when we must take that “leap of faith” and jump into that realm of life where the unknown exists and uncertainty awaits. Once we start to feel as if there are no more challenges and goals to work toward, we become complacent and even bored with life. This is our signal it’s time to shift gears and detour from the path we are so we are able to grow forward.
So often we will choose to stay in what we refer to as our “comfort zone” and begin bitching to everyone about how unhappy we are until the people we constantly complain to start hiding whenever they see us coming, stop returning our calls and no longer ask us to join them for a fun evening. Why? Because we have become obsessed with and lost in the dark cloud of our own internal chaos and misery. At this point, we begin to spill our discontent all over anyone who will listen rather than taking responsibility for both our choices and negative attitudes. However, “the light at the end of the tunnel” is still trying to shine through… whether we choose to see it or not. It is at this point that we must make the conscious decision to begin living outside of this fictitious “Comfort Zone” where we have become blocked from our hopes, dreams, possibilities, opportunities and happiness.

Yes… beyond the box and into the unknown is scary. But know that it can also be challenging and rewarding to learn and do something new. New beginnings can enhance our well-being and bring new knowledge to our minds, bodies and life. As long as we have life, we must never stop learning and choosing to live our best lives. And no matter what the age of the teacher, we must seek to continuously learn. Hell, I learn from my grandchildren all the time. They teach me so much. And through their eyes I get a new perspective on life. Sometimes they remind me of better times from the past, add an extra dose of joy to my present and give me hope for a brighter future. Just the sparkle in their eyes and the happy pitch of their voices brings a smile to my face, new hope for a better world and love to my life.
So where are you right now in your life, career and dreams? Are you ready to add some new life to your life and get out if that “Comfort Zone” that’s leading to nothing new, interesting or exciting? Remember new adventures bring great rewards; and great rewards bring comfort, knowledge and love. A light heart that’s fueled and filled with wonder makes for a life that’s never boring or bothered by “the small stuff.” The biggest disservice and dishonor to your life would be to never step out of your “Comfort Zone” so the world is allowed to see your best self.
I leave you to ponder on this week’s message with this very profound quote: “Your Life Does Not Get Better By Chance, It Gets Better By Change” (Unknown)

Stay Safe. Stay Strong. Stay Fearless.
