Girl, You Need to Stop
By Patricia Womack

Stop what? I don’t know what you are referring to.
Girl, you wake up every day and put on your power suit.
What power suit?
Girl, you make sure your hair is done, your face is flawless, manicured hands and your attire is totally put together.
I’m confused? Why should I stop doing all of that?
Girl, you are doing all of that on the outside and not taking time to heal on the inside.
You don’t have any idea of what you are talking about.
Girl, I know exactly what I am talking about. I see you.
I see you too.
Girl, I know you see me however, I see your potential…your path of success.
What are you referring to…my potential…my path? I am okay with the way my life is.
Girl, who lied to you?
Nobody lied to me!
Girl, someone most certainly did. You walk like you are boss. When you enter a room you draw attention. Your attire says CEO and when you speak all ears are open; yet you tell me you are okay being an assistant.
Yes I am!
Girl, that’s a lie. I can look in your eyes and see you. You have dreams of owning businesses, writing books, building your legacy and traveling. I don’t know who told you that you can’t do everything you said you wanted to do when you were a child. You can live the life you dreamed and spoke of as a child.
It’s too late and I don’t have time.
Girl, it’s never too late and as long as you have breath in your body you have time I need you to BELIEVE and have FAITH. TRUST and KNOW that I would not be able to see these things if it was not possible. BELIEVE IN YOU and stop listening to the lies that were told to you. IT’S TIME… YOUR TIME! TALITHA KOUM
